Richard Critchfield papers, 1954-1994.

Papers of an author and foreign correspondent known for his reporting on the third world and village culture. Includes copies of many of his articles, essays, papers, books and other writings, as well as reviews of his books. There are manuscript drafts, notes and other background material for three of his books: Those Days, Villagers, and Trees, Why Do You Wait? In the Trees book series there is an extensive collection of interview transcripts used in writing the book. There is also a video copy of a C-Span interview with Critchfield regarding his book, An American Looks at Britain.
